Every Month "Life" owners select 2 of their employee's to appear on Channel 2 to offer an deserving member of the community a make over! I had the opportunity to feature my work every month Channel 2 came! Talk about nerve racking...I love doing the behind the scenes work but when it comes to me being on camera...that's another story!
Jackie was the last makeover I was able to do before I moved to Idaho! Jackie has been suffering from seizures since she was 12 and more than deserved a make over! I was honored to be able to do Jackie's hair! Jackie came in with Bright purple hair (not intentional) I was more than ready to tone that purple down and give her a rich chocolate brown with some subtle highlights to brighten up her youthful completion!

This is a young mom of 3 who's husband had just been diagnosed with siliac disease! Because of the economy, stressed weighed heavy on this family! I could totally relate to this mom, and because of this I knew this was something she needed! It is so important for women to take time for themselves, something we often forget to do! I had the opportunity to do her makeup! Wow, she already was a beauty so it made my job a breeze! She and her husband were going out on the town that night so I wanted to give her something she wouldn't ever to on her self! She had beautiful green eyes so I played them up by adding different Hugh's of Plums! She had beautiful plum lips, perfect for a dewy kissable lip!
The best part of my job is how I can make someone view themselves! How frustrating it is to have someone sit in my chair and the first thing they focus on is the negatives about themselves! ALL my clients are beautiful and they KNOW that in my chair they better act that way:) I am one lucky person that I can give back, and help someone feel at the least a little better about themselves:)

I had the opportunity to take on some extra responsibility for the LIFE Salon and Spa! Forever will they be in my hearts! Hundreds of people walked through our doors that night. We offered Drink and Food, but most of all it was a time we could show people what we were all about! The services offered were unlike any other salon, and to set ourselves apart we had an amazing staff! This is a night I will always remember!

This last fall I was asked to stage, ward robe, hair and makeup for the 2009 Lagoon commercials! It was quite the task, keeping up with wet faces and wind blown hair! The look they were going for were the bright yellows, reds and orange tones! Their Idea was to color the sky a teal color so that the actors stood out in their bright colors for the commercial! This was my first event I styled myself so it was quite nerve racking! The filming crew was amazing and were so incredibly nice! The day couldn't of been more fun...or HOT!!! I wish I had pictures, sadly the camera I used that day went MIA! So all I have is a short clip of the filming! I have however seen the commercial aired quite a bit the last few days!

I love that in this industry there is always room to grow! When I finish someones hair or I finish someones makeup and it's the best work I've done, I always seem to think of things I can change so that the next time it is even more amazing than the time before:) Education has been a huge influence in the way I do hair! Every artist has something different they can offer, and from each of them I can take just one thing and grow! Developing myself as my own unique artist! This past summer my friend Sherydon and I had the opportunity to travel with a school to Las Vegas for the Naha's award! While there we were privileged to take a private class taught by Eric Fisher! What I loved about him was he taught us to be our Unique selves! Embrace yourself and your work and LOVE it!
Sherydon and I worked along side each other doing many weddings! Taking many brides away from the crunchy curls, and the way over done makeup! Classic is the key! Our inspiration was Old Hollywood!

Excitement and nervousness are the only words that could explain my feelings doing the hair and makeup for "The New Love song" a Joshua James Music video! What an amazing experience not only for me but for those around me! Joshua James is an New artist that will be featured on MTV. I wish him and his band only the best, they were simply amazing! (Sorry girls, he's married!)
The only down fall of the day was my camera died:( So the only photo I got was taken by my phone! Just wait for the music video, my work will be featured on that:)

Looking back on this past year I have had so many wonderful opportunities to expand myself as an artist! I was honored when I was asked to teach a color Class at Taylor Andrews academy! It was an incredible class of 20 who seriously amazed me, they asked every question you could imagine! Too all the students: Soak in ALL the learning you can, you are about to embark on the most exciting career someone can have!
